Honor unveils UI Agent, an AI assistant that understands your screen

Honor has unveiled a new AI-powered assistant called Honor UI Agent, designed to interact with and understand the graphical user interface (GUI) of your smartphone. This technology allows the agent to perform tasks on your behalf, such as booking a restaurant through the OpenTable app, without requiring explicit instructions for each step.

Honor UI Agent leverages Google’s Gemini 2 large language model for intent recognition and semantic understanding, enabling it to comprehend user commands and interpret on-screen elements. It also utilizes in-house execution models and a partnership with Qualcomm to process data locally on the device, ensuring privacy and efficiency.

While the current version of the agent requires users to observe the step-by-step execution of tasks on the screen, Honor plans to refine the technology to operate more seamlessly in the background.

This development highlights Honor’s growing focus on AI innovation and its commitment to creating intelligent devices that enhance user experiences. The company also announced its $10 billion Honor Alpha Plan, a long-term strategy aimed at developing cutting-edge AI technologies for its devices.

In addition to the Honor UI Agent, the company also revealed that it will provide seven years of software updates for its flagship Magic 7 Pro and upcoming devices, matching the software update policies of Google and Samsung.

Honor also unveiled several new gadgets at MWC 2025, including the Honor Earbuds Open, Honor Watch 5 Ultra smartwatch, Honor Pad V9 tablet, and Honor MagicBook Pro 14 laptop.
