Apple CEO Tim Cook recently offered a rare glimpse into his personal and professional life during an interview on the Table Manners podcast. Cook, who was in London in December, sat down with hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware to discuss his daily routine, work ethic, and even his favorite foods.

Cook revealed that Apple collects fruit from the trees on its Apple Park campus to make jam, a delightful detail that highlights the company’s connection to its namesake fruit. He even shared some spiced apple jam made from Apple Park apples with the podcast hosts.

While Cook acknowledged his strong work ethic and demanding schedule, he also shared his intention to eventually retire, albeit not in the traditional sense. He envisions a retirement filled with intellectual stimulation and engagement, rather than a complete withdrawal from work.

Cook, known for his early mornings, confirmed that he starts his day before 5:00 a.m. by answering emails. He appreciates the predictability of this routine and the quiet time it affords him before the day’s unpredictability unfolds.

Cook shared his preference for working from Apple Park four days a week, opting to work from home on Fridays due to the quieter office environment. He also revealed some of his favorite things, including his love for white wine (specifically Kistler Chardonnay), dark chocolate, and the octopus dish at Ethel’s Fancy restaurant in Palo Alto.

While Cook didn’t divulge any specifics about upcoming Apple products, he hinted at exciting developments in the pipeline, stating that the company has “so many things coming up.”

Cook also shared some of his personal interests, including hiking, visiting national parks, and even caving in Slovenia. These insights offer a glimpse into the Apple CEO’s life beyond the boardroom.

This candid interview provides a unique perspective on Tim Cook, offering listeners a chance to get to know the man behind the tech giant. The full Table Manners podcast episode with Tim Cook is available on Apple Podcasts.
