Microsoft’s new ergonomic keyboard: compact design, premium price

Incase, the manufacturer of Microsoft-branded accessories, has launched a new compact ergonomic keyboard.  This keyboard boasts “ultra-responsive” scissor keys with 1.3mm travel, designed for comfortable and efficient typing.

The keyboard features Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, allowing users to sync up to three devices simultaneously. It requires two AAA batteries, which Incase claims will last for 36 months.

Compatible with Windows 11 and Windows 10, the keyboard measures 13 inches by 8.6 inches by 1.2 inches. However, its $200 price tag may give some potential buyers pause.

This new keyboard arrives after Onward Brands, the parent company of Incase, acquired the licensing rights to manufacture Microsoft accessories. Microsoft announced earlier this year that it was discontinuing its peripherals business to focus on its Surface-branded products.

The Compact Ergonomic Keyboard aims to provide comfort, accuracy, and performance in a compact form factor. Whether it lives up to its claims and justifies its premium price remains to be seen.
