Don’t feel left out; Android users will also get new emojis

It appears that the new series of emojis that landed with iOS 9.1 left Android users a little bit jealous. Androiders took on the forums and expressed their frustration about not getting the middle finger – literally 😂.

And it seems the rant paid off. Senior VP of Android, Hiroshi Lockheimer said on Twitter that company is on the case and will bring a new set of emojis to Android soon.

So I have a feeling y'all want new emojis? a) Thanks for the feedback, b) We're on it, and c) Sorry!

— Hiroshi Lockheimer (@lockheimer) October 23, 2015

But it remains unknown if Android users will actually get the same set as iOS, and when. It’s also possible that Google will release the new set of emojis as a download via the Google Play Store instead of an OS update.

We”l keep you updated.
