YouTube is raising the price of its Premium subscriptions in the UAE, with both the Individual and Family plans becoming more expensive.
The YouTube Premium Individual plan is increasing from AED 26.99 to AED 29.99 per month, while the Family plan is rising from AED 49.99 to AED 57.99 per month.
For Individual subscribers, that’s an increase of AED 3 per month, or around 11.1%. The Family plan is seeing a considerably larger AED 8 monthly increase, equivalent to approximately 16%.
For affected existing subscribers, the new prices will begin appearing on upcoming billing cycles. In an email sent to UAE customers, YouTube said one Individual subscriber’s new AED 29.99 rate would take effect on their September 21, 2026 billing date, as the company begins notifying members ahead of the changes.
How much more will YouTube Premium cost in the UAE?
| Plan | Previous price | New price | Monthly increase | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | AED 26.99 | AED 29.99 | AED 3 | 11.1% |
| Family | AED 49.99 | AED 57.99 | AED 8 | 16.0% |
The increase becomes more noticeable when calculated over a full year.
An Individual subscription paid monthly will now cost AED 359.88 per year, up from AED 323.88 — an additional AED 36 annually.
The Family plan will rise from AED 599.88 to AED 695.88 per year, meaning families will pay an additional AED 96 annually at the new monthly rate.
YouTube says the increase will fund Premium improvements
In its notification to UAE subscribers, YouTube said the price adjustment will help it continue improving Premium while supporting creators and artists on the platform.
The core benefits of the subscription remain unchanged. YouTube Premium includes ad-free video viewing, video downloads for offline playback, background play on supported devices and access to YouTube Music Premium.
The Family plan provides those Premium benefits to eligible members of the same household, making the price increase particularly relevant for households that have been using the plan as a more economical alternative to maintaining several separate Individual subscriptions.
YouTube Premium is officially available in the United Arab Emirates, alongside a wide range of other markets across the Middle East.
The Family plan is getting the bigger increase
While both subscriptions are becoming more expensive, the Family plan is receiving the sharper price increase.
At AED 57.99 per month, Family subscribers will be paying AED 8 more every month than before. That’s almost three times the absolute monthly increase being applied to Individual subscribers.
Even after the increase, however, the Family plan can remain considerably cheaper than paying for multiple Individual memberships.
At the new prices, two Individual memberships would cost AED 59.98 per month — already slightly more than the AED 57.99 Family plan. Three Individual memberships would cost AED 89.97, while four would reach AED 119.96 per month.
For eligible households with several active YouTube users, the Family subscription therefore continues to offer a significant potential saving despite its 16% price increase.
UAE subscribers should check how they are billed
One important detail is that the amount users pay can depend on where they purchased their subscription.
The new prices referenced here apply to YouTube Premium subscriptions billed at the UAE rates communicated to affected subscribers. Users who subscribed through a third-party platform such as Apple’s App Store may see different pricing.
UAE users should therefore check their subscription’s billing provider rather than assuming everyone will receive exactly the same charge.
YouTube directs subscribers to the Purchases and Memberships section of their account to see their current membership type, price and billing information. Subscribers can also cancel their membership through their account settings if they don’t want to continue at the new rate.
What UAE subscribers need to do
Existing subscribers who receive the price-change notification generally don’t need to subscribe again. Their Premium membership will continue, with the new price taking effect according to the billing date specified in their notification.
The exact date can therefore differ depending on the subscriber’s billing cycle. In the Individual plan notification seen for the UAE price change, the move from AED 26.99 to AED 29.99 is scheduled for the subscriber’s September 21, 2026 billing date.
Subscribers who don’t want to pay the higher rate can cancel before their applicable billing date.
For those who stay, the new UAE pricing means AED 29.99 per month for YouTube Premium Individual and AED 57.99 per month for YouTube Premium Family — adding AED 36 and AED 96 respectively to the cost of a full year when paying monthly.
