Samsung has opened pre-orders in the UAE for its latest foldable phones and two new smartwatches, continuing a product line that began seven years ago. The Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Flip8 form the core of the release, each aimed at slightly different priorities while sharing the same Galaxy AI software layer. Pre-orders run from 22 July to 6 August 2026 through Samsung’s website, experience stores and authorised retailers.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 is presented as the lightest Fold yet at 201 grams. Its cover screen is wider than previous models and the overall aspect ratio has been adjusted to make web browsing, reading and video feel less constrained when the phone is closed. Once unfolded, the larger inner display is intended to support multitasking and media consumption without requiring constant mode switching. Whether the revised proportions meaningfully improve daily use will depend on how users adapt their habits, as foldables still demand a learning curve around app layouts and crease visibility.
The Fold8 Ultra targets higher-end productivity and content creation. It pairs an 8-inch main display with a 200-megapixel primary camera and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Samsung positions it as the most capable device in the range for those who treat their phone as a primary work tool. The Flip8 remains the compact alternative, relying on an updated FlexWindow for glanceable information and a 50-megapixel camera system for quick captures. Its appeal continues to rest on pocketability rather than screen real estate.

Alongside the phones, Samsung is launching the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9. The Ultra2 features an 800mAh battery, a display peaking at 5,000 nits and a titanium case rated for professional diving. New tracking modes and a nutrition alert expand its outdoor and athletic focus. The Watch9 takes a lighter approach with an aluminium body and an emphasis on continuous health monitoring throughout the day. Both watches follow established patterns in the category: larger batteries and brighter screens for the rugged model, refined comfort for the everyday one.
Pricing places the Fold8 Ultra between AED 7,999 and 10,399 depending on storage, the Fold8 from AED 7,199 to 9,599, and the Flip8 from AED 4,699 to 5,499. Watch prices start at AED 1,449 for the smaller Watch9 and reach AED 2,669 for the Ultra2. Launch incentives include discounted storage upgrades, trade-in credits up to AED 3,737, multi-device discounts and several months of streaming and AI subscriptions. These offers are typical of premium smartphone launches and help soften the high entry cost of foldables.
Samsung has maintained a clear lead in foldable volume since the category’s commercial start, yet the field has grown more competitive. Incremental gains in weight, display ratio and camera resolution matter, but software maturity, long-term durability and repair costs remain decisive for buyers deciding whether to switch from conventional flagships. The new range expands choice within Samsung’s own ecosystem more than it redefines the form factor itself.
