PUBG Mobile has added a limited-time Spider-Man collaboration to its Version 4.5 update, drawing on Sony Pictures’ upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The crossover runs from July 30 through September 1 and centers on a dedicated mode that drops players into a new urban map called Central Square. The district features high-rise buildings, linked rooftops, and ziplines designed for vertical movement, plus a recreation of Peter Parker’s apartment stocked with interactive objects and film references. Movie-themed backpacks and air drops scatter additional supplies across the zone.
Players can equip two signature items that alter how they move and fight. Peter Parker’s Gloves enable web swinging between structures and attacks that slow or trap opponents. The matching hoodie adds wall climbing, wall running, ceiling traversal, double jumps, and a spider-sense effect that highlights nearby footprints. These abilities shift the usual battle-royale rhythm toward more fluid, vertical play, though they remain restricted to the collaboration window and the themed map. Completing login tasks on August 1 and 2 yields a limited emote, while a series of quests unlocks the “Friendly Neighbor” story path and progressive avatar rewards.
The mode also includes smaller interactive touches: a tribute point with an Easter egg, fleeting Spider-Man appearances that leave behind loot, and photo challenges that recreate familiar aerial moments from the franchise. Creators working in World of Wonder receive a Central Square template that includes the same gloves and hoodie, letting them build custom experiences around the movement set.
IP crossovers of this scale have become routine for major mobile battle royales. Earlier seasons of PUBG Mobile already tested everything from celebrity skins to other comic properties, and the pattern continues because temporary themed content reliably drives logins and social sharing. The Spider-Man kit is more ambitious than a simple cosmetic drop, yet it still sits inside the familiar loop of scavenging, zone shrinkage, and last-player-standing combat. Whether the web-slinging tools feel like a genuine expansion or a short-lived novelty will depend on how long players keep returning to Central Square once the initial novelty fades.
The film itself arrives in cinemas at the end of July with regional release dates, starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. In North America the game is supporting the tie-in with TikTok content, creator streams, and local activations. As with most such partnerships, the in-game material is available only while the collaboration lasts; after September 1 the map, items, and rewards rotate out. Players can download the free title on the App Store or Google Play to try the content while it remains live.
