Huawei Pura 90s series launches pre orders in UAE

Huawei’s Pura 90s series has opened for pre-order in the UAE, with the lineup starting at AED 3,199. The announcement positions these devices as accessible options in the premium smartphone segment, blending capable cameras, fast connectivity, and updated styling aimed at everyday users who value photography and design without venturing into the highest price tiers.

The series continues Huawei’s focus on imaging as a core strength. The top Pura 90s Pro Max model includes a 200-megapixel telephoto camera that promises strong detail at longer ranges, supported by real-time processing and a robust stabilization system rated to CIPA 7.0 standards. This setup allows for clearer 20x telephoto video and reduced blur in handheld shots, which could prove useful for users capturing distant subjects or shooting in variable conditions. The updated True-to-Colour system claims measurable gains in accuracy and gamut, helping scenes appear more natural. Additional AI tools assist with composition, removing glare from reflective surfaces, and even repositioning elements within photos while attempting to maintain realistic backgrounds and lighting. These features build on the gradual evolution of computational photography seen across the industry, though real-world performance often depends on lighting and user technique rather than specifications alone.

Design-wise, the Pura 90s series adopts flat edges for a cleaner profile, moving away from more curved predecessors. The Pro Max comes in finishes like Blush Gold, Orange Ocean, Blaze Purple, and Graphite Black, with the Orange Ocean variant featuring a dual-tone gradient metal mid-frame for added texture. The standard Pro model leans into brighter, beverage-inspired colors such as Guava Soda and Orange Soda. Screen protection includes anti-reflective Kunlun Glass that reportedly cuts reflections significantly and improves scratch resistance, addressing common frustrations with glossy displays in bright environments like those in the UAE.

Under the hood, a 6,000mAh battery supports full-day usage for most users, paired with 66W or 100W fast charging depending on the model. The new system-level AI assistant, Celia, aims to deliver more intuitive interactions, though the practical value of such tools varies widely based on individual workflows and privacy preferences. Connectivity includes support for 5.5G networks, which should benefit users in areas with expanding infrastructure.

In a market crowded with capable flagships from multiple manufacturers, Huawei’s latest offering highlights steady refinements in camera hardware and software rather than radical reinvention. Past Pura models gained attention for their aesthetic choices and imaging prowess, yet the company continues to navigate broader ecosystem challenges, including app availability in certain regions. For UAE consumers, the pre-order availability through Huawei’s official store includes bundled gifts, potentially sweetening the deal at this price point.

The Pura 90s series reflects the ongoing push toward AI-enhanced photography and personalized design in mid-to-upper premium phones, offering a balanced proposition for those prioritizing cameras and battery life over other features.
