HONOR Magic V6 wants to end your late nights at work

Most long workdays aren’t long because of the work itself. They stretch because of everything around it: the battery warning before the final call, the file stuck on the wrong device, the contract squinted at on a cramped screen. The HONOR Magic V6 is built around a simple idea. Shave off enough of that friction and you might actually close the laptop on time.

Having lived with the phone for our review back in June, we can say that idea holds up better than most productivity pitches.

The biggest time sink for many professionals in the UAE is the gap between devices, especially for people who run a Mac at work and Android in their pocket. The Magic V6 tackles this more directly than any foldable we’ve tested. You can tap the phone on a MacBook’s touchpad to move files, turn the inner display into a second screen for a Mac, and browse iCloud files from HONOR’s own file manager. In our testing it all just worked, with no cables, no emailing files to yourself, and no hunting for where something was saved.

The 7.95-inch inner display covers the other half of the problem. A spreadsheet next to an email, or a long document you can read without constant pinch-zooming, makes reviewing on the go realistic rather than something you put off until later. Folding the phone triggers Fast-Flex, which opens a split-screen setup with Gemini or an app of your choice alongside. Like most of HONOR’s AI tools, it’s best at quietly removing a step or two rather than doing anything dramatic, and that’s no bad thing. The 6.52-inch cover screen stayed readable even under harsh midday sun.

Then there’s the battery, the classic source of end-of-day panic. The 6,660mAh silicon-carbon cell regularly lasted beyond 24 hours of heavy mixed use in our time with it. Late-afternoon charger hunting simply stopped being part of the routine. If you do need a top-up, it supports 80W wired and 66W wireless charging.

A work phone also has to survive being a work phone. That means being tossed into bags, pulled out constantly, and used in cars, cafés, and airports. IP68 and IP69 ratings, a steel hinge rated for 500,000 folds, and tough NanoCrystal Shield glass held up through everything we threw at it. And at 8.75mm thick and 219g folded, it never felt like carrying a tablet around.

We gave the Magic V6 four out of five in our full review. A phone can’t shorten your to-do list, but one that wastes less of your time might give you back a little of your evening.
