Dyson Airwrap owners get 30% more curling power with this attachment

Dyson is expanding the toolkit for its Airwrap Co-anda2x multi-styler with four new attachments rolling out across the Middle East, and the strategy is easy to read. Rather than asking owners to buy a whole new styler, the company is selling them new ways to use the one they already have. What it has not said yet is how much any of them will cost or exactly when they reach shelves.

The Co-anda2x, Dyson’s latest take on the Airwrap formula, runs on the Gen 2 motor, which the company says produces double the air pressure of earlier designs. All four attachments lean on that extra airflow, and the lineup covers curling, volume and straightening in roughly equal measure.

The most interesting of the four is the Air straightener 2x, a wet-to-dry tool that combines two high-velocity air jets with ceramic-coated plates that are warmed by the airflow rather than heated directly. The idea is to straighten and dry hair at the same time, potentially in a single pass, with adjustable clamp tension. Dyson has already explored this territory with its standalone Airstrait, so bringing a similar concept to the Airwrap makes sense for owners who do not want another device on the counter.

Curl-focused users get two options. The Conical Co-anda2x curling barrel tapers toward its tip, producing tighter curls near the root and looser ones further down, a look traditionally associated with heated wands. The longer 40mm Co-anda2x barrel targets mid-length to long or thick hair, with Dyson claiming 30% more power than the Airwrap i.d. and better hair capture per wrap. It also works with the i.d. curl sequence, automatically triggering once hair is fully wrapped around the barrel.

Rounding things out is the Large round volumising brush 2x, a bigger round brush meant for straight blow-dry results with added body. Dyson says its bristle design reduces frizz and tangling while increasing airflow contact for faster shaping.

On hair health, Dyson repeats its familiar argument that its tools avoid heat damage because temperature is measured 1,000 times per second and kept below extreme levels. That approach has made the Airwrap the reference point for air-based styling, but “no heat damage” remains the company’s claim rather than an independently verified guarantee, and results will vary across hair types.

The bigger question is value. Dyson’s attachments have rarely been cheap, and stacking several of them onto an already premium styler could push the total well beyond what rival multi-stylers charge. Without pricing, it is impossible to say whether these upgrades are worth chasing.
