Claude can now build live business dashboards and animated videos

Anthropic is building Claude out from a chatbot into something closer to a full office suite. The company has launched two new beta tools: Claude Dashboards, which builds live data dashboards, and Claude Motion, which creates editable animations. At the same time, it moved Claude’s Docs, Slides and Design tools out of beta and made them available on every Claude plan.

Dashboards is the more consequential launch for businesses. It’s available in beta on paid plans and connects to business data platforms and customer-management systems. Users can then build live dashboards and analyses by describing what they want in plain language. The promise is clear enough: a sales manager who wants pipeline numbers broken down by region shouldn’t need to file a ticket with an analytics team or learn a BI tool to get them. Anthropic says the goal is to help people work with business data and produce visual content without writing code.

That is also where the hard questions start. Turning a casual request into an accurate query against a messy company database is notoriously difficult, and a dashboard that looks polished but quietly misreads a field is arguably worse than having no dashboard at all. How well Claude handles ambiguous metrics, permissions and data governance will matter far more to IT departments than how quickly it renders a chart. Anthropic hasn’t detailed which platforms are supported at launch, so the integration list will be worth watching closely.

Claude Motion is a different kind of experiment. It’s limited to Team and Enterprise customers for now, and it lets users create animations, keep them editable and export them as video files. Its likely uses are explainer clips, social content and presentation inserts, the kind of work that would otherwise go to a motion designer or a template service.

Promoting Docs, Slides and Design to general availability is a quieter but telling move. Anthropic introduced Artifacts in 2024 as a way to show generated code and documents alongside the chat. What started as a preview window has steadily become a set of dedicated editors, and these new launches extend that strategy into analytics and video.

The competitive context explains the urgency. Microsoft has built Copilot directly into Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google has done the same with Gemini across Workspace, and OpenAI keeps expanding what ChatGPT can produce. Anthropic doesn’t own an office suite, so it is effectively building its own around Claude. The open question is whether companies already paying for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace will want a third set of productivity tools, or whether Claude’s version needs to be clearly better before anyone switches.
