Apple hasn’t announced the iPhone 18 Pro. It hasn’t announced a foldable iPhone either. Minor details, apparently, because Caviar is already happy to sell you luxury versions of both for as much as Dh59,000.
The luxury customisation company has opened orders for its iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Royal Colors collection, covering designs called Emperor, King, Black Prince and Pharaoh. Subtlety, as those names suggest, was not invited to the meeting.
Depending on the version, buyers get combinations of titanium, crocodile or python leather and double 24-karat gold plating. Caviar says each design will be limited to 18 units, adding the customary layer of exclusivity expected when a smartphone costs considerably more than many perfectly serviceable used cars.
Prices start at $10,060, roughly Dh36,945, for the Black Prince and Pharaoh models. The Consul reaches $10,840, around Dh39,810. And remember, we’re still discussing customised versions of a phone Apple hasn’t officially shown.
Things become considerably more entertaining with Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone.
Caviar has decided to call it the “iPhone Ultra,” presumably because waiting for Apple to reveal the product — or its actual name — would only slow things down. Its versions include Titanium, Dark Cherry, Karat, Magenta, Silver, Gold and a Jobs edition, with prices ranging from $13,840, approximately Dh50,827, to $15,990, around Dh58,723.
To Caviar’s credit, the company isn’t designing entirely from imagination. It says it has obtained high-precision physical mock-ups of Apple’s upcoming devices and is adapting its materials and decorative panels accordingly. Accessory manufacturers routinely work with leaked dimensions and dummy units before major smartphone launches, so that part isn’t particularly extraordinary.
The specifications attached to these luxury models deserve considerably more caution.
Caviar lists the supposed foldable with a 7.8-inch internal display, 5.3-inch cover screen, titanium body, two 48-megapixel rear cameras and a 5,800mAh battery. It also mentions an A20 Pro processor manufactured on a 3nm process, which conflicts with other reports pointing toward TSMC’s newer 2nm technology for Apple’s A20 generation.
In other words, you can apparently spend almost Dh59,000 on the phone, but you’ll need to wait a little longer to discover precisely what phone you’ve bought.
Caviar is similarly confident about Apple’s calendar, claiming the iPhone 18 Pro will debut on September 9. Apple itself has not announced a 2026 iPhone event or confirmed that date. A September launch would certainly fit Apple’s traditional schedule, but a plausible prediction isn’t the same thing as an invitation from Cupertino.
Rumours surrounding the iPhone 18 generation have included a smaller Dynamic Island, variable-aperture camera technology and Apple’s first foldable smartphone. Those possibilities will remain unofficial until Apple confirms them.
Luxury smartphone customisation has always operated in a different universe from ordinary consumer electronics, where gold plating and scarcity can matter more than value for money. Caviar is simply taking that philosophy to its logical conclusion: why wait for a smartphone to exist officially when someone is already willing to buy the expensive version?
