The arrival of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max is predictably bringing a fresh wave of accessories with it, and AULUMU is getting in early with six cases ranging from ultra-thin aramid fibre shells to a transparent model that glows in the dark.
The new A18 Series takes several different approaches rather than recycling one case across multiple colours. Prices start at $39.98 for the Ghost Lumen Transparent Case and climb to $79.98 for the range-topping A18 Armor Shockproof Aramid Fiber Case. The collection is available through AULUMU’s website, with wider Amazon availability expected later.
The Armor is the most protection-focused option. It combines 1500D aramid fibre with TPU in a one-piece design, with reinforced corners and full edge coverage. AULUMU claims it can withstand drops of up to two metres, while a 1.36mm lip around the screen and 1.3mm raised camera surround are intended to keep those surfaces away from tables and other flat objects. At $79.98, however, that extra protection carries a decidedly premium price.
For buyers more concerned with keeping the iPhone 18 Pro slim, there are two 1.2mm-thick aramid alternatives. The $69.98 Ultra-Slim Gradient uses 800D aramid fibre and weighs from 26g, with its grayscale gradient woven into the material rather than printed onto the surface.
The similarly priced Ultra-Slim Pixel switches to 1500D aramid fibre, weighs from 27g and adds a UV-treated particle pattern. It comes in black or blue and leans much more heavily into AULUMU’s deliberately futuristic aesthetic.
The $39.98 Ghost Lumen is arguably the more unusual option. Instead of aramid fibre, it uses transparent polycarbonate with a claimed light transmittance of between 88% and 92%. A luminous layer allows parts of the case to glow in darker environments, while AULUMU says its formulation is designed to resist the yellowing that commonly affects clear smartphone cases over time. It will be offered in transparent and lemon yellow versions.
Rounding out the collection are the $45.98 Particle Vegan Leather Case, available in five colours, and the $59.98 Armor Slim Shockproof Case in white or blue. Details for those models are comparatively limited, with AULUMU positioning them as alternatives for buyers wanting either a leather-style finish or lighter shock protection.
The range reflects how crowded the premium iPhone case market has become. Aramid fibre in particular has become a popular way of offering a thin, rigid shell without the weight associated with more heavily reinforced cases, leaving accessory makers increasingly dependent on design and finishing to differentiate themselves.
AULUMU is clearly betting on that visual distinction. Its cyberpunk-inspired patterns won’t suit anyone looking for an understated case, but six materially different options at least make the A18 Series more than a collection of cosmetic variations. The bigger question is whether its more expensive models can deliver enough real-world protection and durability to justify prices approaching $80.
