Apple Arcade is adding two puzzle games to its catalogue in September, with Block Blast!+ and Art of Fauna: Cozy Puzzles+ both scheduled to arrive on September 3. The additions continue Apple’s effort to keep its subscription service varied, following a busier August that included Madden NFL 27.
Block Blast!+ is the more immediately familiar of the two. Its grid-based design borrows from the broad appeal of classic block puzzles, with players fitting shapes into a board and clearing space as they go. The format is simple, highly replayable and well suited to short mobile sessions, which makes it a fairly natural fit for Apple Arcade.
Art of Fauna: Cozy Puzzles+ takes a slower approach. The game combines jigsaw-style challenges with wildlife-themed artwork and information about the natural world. It previously received recognition in Apple’s 2025 App Store Awards for Cultural Impact, giving the September lineup a title with a slightly more distinctive identity than the usual casual puzzle release.
As with other Apple Arcade games, both versions will be offered without advertising or in-app purchases. That remains one of the service’s clearest advantages at a time when many mobile games are built around recurring purchases, energy systems or ad-supported progression.
The “+” branding is also significant. Apple has increasingly used Arcade to bring existing App Store games into the subscription catalogue in versions stripped of their original monetisation systems. It is a practical way to expand the library, although it also means the service often grows through enhanced editions of familiar mobile titles rather than completely new exclusives.
Apple is not waiting until September to refresh the service. Several existing Arcade games are receiving additional content throughout August. Puffies will add 28 new packs on August 12, while Simon’s Cat – Blast Time will begin introducing another 200 levels from August 20, with 50 arriving each week. Stitch will reach 800 puzzle hoops on August 26 and mark the milestone with a special hoop and achievement.
The steady stream of smaller updates reflects how Apple Arcade has evolved since its launch. The service initially leaned heavily on original games and exclusivity, but its current strategy is broader: established mobile hits, licensed sports releases, family-friendly games and regular content updates all sit alongside more experimental titles.
Apple Arcade currently costs $6.99 per month after a one-month trial and supports Family Sharing for up to five additional people. It is also included in Apple One subscription bundles.
Neither September addition is likely to redefine Apple Arcade on its own, but that may not be the point. Block Blast!+ gives the service another easy-to-understand daily puzzle, while Art of Fauna offers something quieter and more curated. For a subscription increasingly built around breadth rather than blockbuster exclusives, that combination fits Apple’s current approach surprisingly well.
