Rockstar Games is making sure Grand Theft Auto VI has the soundtrack to match the scale of Vice City.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album has officially been announced, bringing together 34 brand-new original tracksfrom artists spanning hip-hop, electronic music, pop, Latin music, rock and more. The full album launches on November 19 alongside Grand Theft Auto VI, but Rockstar has already dropped six tracks to give us an early taste.
And this is not exactly a quiet opening act.
Six GTA VI tracks are available now
The first wave includes some seriously big names, with Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards all appearing across the initial releases.
The six tracks available now are:
- Yung Lean – That’s It (feat. Future & Metro Boomin)
- Travis Scott – RHYNO (prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
- CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. & Etienne de Crécy – Sexy Magic
- Morgan Wallen – Last Thing You Need
- Rauw Alejandro – Macacoa 2000
- Keith Richards – Bright Lights, Big City
That Travis Scott track immediately stands out thanks to production from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, one half of Daft Punk, while the combination of CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and French electronic legend Etienne de Crécy is exactly the kind of wonderfully unexpected lineup we’d expect from a GTA soundtrack.
Then there’s Keith Richards casually showing up alongside some of the biggest contemporary artists in the world. Because apparently even Vice City needs a Rolling Stone.
GTA VI is going big on original music
Music has always been a huge part of the Grand Theft Auto experience, but a 34-song collection created specifically around GTA VI gives Rockstar another way to build the identity of its new version of Vice City beyond the game’s radio stations and licensed tracks.
The first six releases already suggest the album isn’t going to stick to one particular sound. Hip-hop sits alongside electronic music, Latin influences, country and rock, which feels appropriately chaotic for Grand Theft Auto.
The full artist lineup hasn’t been revealed yet either, meaning there are still 28 tracks waiting to be unveiled.
The album arrives with GTA VI
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album launches November 19, the same day as Grand Theft Auto VI. Alongside its release on major streaming platforms, Rockstar is also preparing multiple vinyl and CD editions, with physical versions available to pre-order through select retailers.
The album is available to pre-save now across major music streaming services, while all six debut singles can already be streamed.
If these first six tracks are any indication, driving around Vice City while obeying absolutely none of its traffic laws is going to have one hell of a soundtrack.
