Everything announced at Marvel’s insane SDCC 2026 panel

The Marvel Studios Hall H panel at SDCC 2026 just wrapped, and the energy in that room must have been unreal. Kevin Feige walked out wearing a Doctor Doom hat, the crowd was already chanting, and by the end we had a new Ghost Rider, a confirmed Deadpool in the next Avengers movie, a Black Panther sequel with a brand-new king, and enough exclusive footage to keep the timeline debates going for months.

Ryan Gosling is officially Ghost Rider. He stepped on stage looking almost as surprised as the audience, talking about how long he’d wanted the role. Shawn Levy is directing, the same guy who just finished Deadpool & Wolverine and is currently deep in Star Wars: Starfighter with Gosling. The movie is penciled for 2028. The logo they showed is pure fire-and-skull business. If Levy can bring even half the chaotic energy he gave Wade Wilson to Johnny Blaze (or whoever ends up wearing the spirit of vengeance this time), we’re in for something special.

Then the big one: Deadpool is in Avengers: Doomsday. Ryan Reynolds showed up in a grey suit version of the costume, did the “longtime listener, first time caller” bit, and immediately started roasting the situation. He asked when filming starts and got told it’s already in the can. Paul Rudd jumped in with a Wrexham joke about why Thor was crying in Deadpool & Wolverine. Hayley Atwell is also confirmed, which means Peggy Carter is somehow in the mix. The Russo Brothers brought exclusive footage that opens on Doom on the throne. Sue Storm talks about the man he used to be. We get intense cuts of Thor, Shang-Chi, Shuri, and Gambit before Doom raises an army of comic-accurate Sentinels from the ground. That visual alone is going to break the internet when the trailer drops.

Robert Downey Jr. came out in full Doom energy, green and theatrical, telling the crowd they’ll have to choose sides. The rest of the Doomsday cast poured in from the back of Hall H: Rebecca Romijn, Lewis Pullman, James Marsden, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour, Kelsey Grammer, Winston Duke, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta, Danny Ramirez, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, and more. It was one of those classic Marvel stage moments where the entire room feels like it’s vibrating.

Black Panther 3 got its official date: December 15, 2028. Ryan Coogler is back. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke were on stage. The story follows the son of the character Chadwick Boseman played as he comes of age. David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus, The Long Walk) is the new Black Panther. The reaction in the room when his name was announced was pure roar.

We also got Spider-Man: Brand New Day footage. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher shows up while Hulk is smashing Peter into the pavement. Punisher starts unloading on Hulk. Spider-Man webs the bigger guy, the two of them try to coordinate a plan, and Mark Ruffalo’s hybrid Smart/Savage Hulk gets one perfect “Really?” line before everything explodes. It’s messy, funny, and exactly the kind of street-level chaos the MCU has been missing.

Other quick hits: Vision Quest lands on Disney+ in October as the third chapter of the WandaVision story. There’s an Avengers: Endgame Encore presentation coming that will include exclusive Doomsday footage. No real Secret Wars details and zero X-Men movie news, which is both surprising and very on-brand for Feige’s slow-burn approach.

The whole panel felt like Marvel reminding everyone that Phase whatever-this-is still has gas in the tank. Doom is the new center of gravity, the multiverse is still bleeding through, and they’re stacking big swings for 2027 and 2028. Ghost Rider with Gosling and Levy, a new Black Panther under Coogler, Deadpool crashing the Avengers party, and a Sentinels army that looks like it walked straight off the page. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday in Hall H.
