Rockstar Games has finally revealed a big physical collector’s package for Grand Theft Auto 6, but anyone hoping this means a traditional collector’s edition with a copy of GTA 6 inside should lower their expectations. The newly announced Vice City Collection costs $399.99, and the actual game is sold separately.
Officially called Grand Theft Auto 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, the package goes all-in on the fictional world Rockstar has been building around Leonida and Vice City. Much of it revolves around Macca the Gator, a character connected to the in-game TV show branding that has appeared in GTA 6 material.
The box includes a Macca the Gator figure alongside Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, New Era 9FORTY snapback, magnetic mirror, Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, Vice City swizzle spoon and razor blade keychain. There’s also an enamel pin set, sticker pack and a double-sided souvenir poster featuring a map of Leonida.
It’s certainly more ambitious than throwing a steelbook and a couple of stickers into a box, and the involvement of brands such as Oakley and New Era helps explain some of the premium positioning. Rockstar has even highlighted smaller details such as the custom YKK zipper used on the crossbody bag.
Still, $399.99 is a serious amount of money for GTA 6 merchandise, particularly when buying the collection doesn’t actually secure you a copy of GTA 6. That makes this much more of a lifestyle and memorabilia package for hardcore collectors than a conventional collector’s edition.
The timing is interesting too. Physical editions have remained a major talking point around GTA 6, especially with the enormous level of anticipation surrounding Rockstar’s next open-world game. This collection gives fans something tangible to put on a shelf, wear or probably keep sealed forever, but it doesn’t answer the bigger questions surrounding physical copies of the game itself.
For die-hard GTA collectors, there’s plenty here that will probably look irresistible — especially the Leonida map and Macca figure. For everyone else, spending nearly $400 before buying GTA 6 separately might be a harder mission than anything Rockstar puts in Vice City.
