HyperX is expanding its gaming peripherals lineup at gamescom 2026, with a new open-back headset and an unusually light wireless mouse leading a broader refresh of its audio, streaming and competitive gaming hardware.
The new products, first shown at Level Awakening 2026 in the US last week, are making their EMEA debut at gamescom in Cologne. The two headline additions are the HyperX Cloud Alpha Air, the HP-owned gaming brand’s first open-back headset, and the Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro, a 47-gram wireless gaming mouse aimed squarely at competitive players.
The Cloud Alpha Air is arguably the more interesting departure for HyperX. Open-back headphones have long been popular among audio enthusiasts because their design can produce a wider, more natural sense of space. That can also work well for games where positional audio matters, although open designs typically provide little isolation and allow sound to escape into the surrounding room.
HyperX is attempting to address another common characteristic of open-back designs: less forceful bass compared with many closed gaming headsets. The Cloud Alpha Air uses what the company calls Bass Tube technology to maintain stronger low-frequency performance while retaining the broader soundstage associated with an open headset. HyperX is positioning it for competitive gaming as well as general use, with additional audio configuration available through its NGENUITY software.
Alongside it is the Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro, which continues the industry’s push toward increasingly lightweight esports mice. Its carbon-infused construction brings the weight down to 47 grams, making it HyperX’s lightest wireless gaming mouse to date.
The specifications are suitably aggressive. HyperX’s new Performance Sensor supports sensitivity of up to 42,000 DPI, tracking speeds of up to 800 IPS and acceleration of up to 70G. More practically, players can choose polling rates as high as 8K. That setting comes with the expected battery penalty: HyperX rates the mouse for up to 35 hours at 8K polling, compared with as much as 150 hours when operating at 1K.
HyperX is also filling out the Haste 3 family with Wireless and Wired models. The company describes the latter as its lightest wired mouse so far, while the standard wireless version combines its latest sensor with low-latency connectivity and NGENUITY configuration.
Audio creators and streamers are getting new hardware as well. The SoloCast 2 Pro microphone introduces dual condenser capsules, vibration dampening, an integrated pop filter and microphone monitoring. HyperX is also adding new colour options to its Cloud III Wired, Cloud III S and Cloud Flight 2 headsets, alongside a Frost finish for the SoloCast 2 microphone.
Regional pricing remains one of the larger unanswered questions. HyperX says the Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro, Haste 3 Wireless, Haste 3 Wired and SoloCast 2 Pro are scheduled to arrive in the region by the end of 2026, but prices have yet to be announced. The company also hasn’t provided regional availability details for the Cloud Alpha Air in the supplied announcement.
With gaming peripherals now crowded with lightweight mice and increasingly sophisticated audio products, specifications alone are rarely enough to stand out. The Cloud Alpha Air’s open-back approach gives HyperX something less conventional to work with, while the 47-gram Haste 3 Pro shows just how far the industry’s weight-cutting competition has progressed. How compelling either product becomes will depend heavily on pricing once HyperX fills in the remaining details.
