Amazon Prime Video is set to bring Lara Croft’s adventures to the small screen with a new Tomb Raider TV series. The show will be penned by the acclaimed writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for her work on the hit series Fleabag.

This project is a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics, the game developer, Embracer Group, the IP owner, and Amazon MGM Studios. While details about the plot are still under wraps, the series will follow Lara Croft’s adventures as a world-famous archaeologist and adventurer.

Fans are eager to see whether the show will lean towards the grittier tone of the modern Tomb Raider games or embrace the campier vibe of the original series. Regardless, the series is sure to be a Prime Video exclusive, adding to the streaming platform’s growing collection of video game adaptations.

The Tomb Raider TV series is not the only project in the works for the franchise. A new game is also in development, to be published by Amazon Games. This suggests a strong partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon, sparking speculation about potential tie-ins between the game and the TV series. The race is on to see which will debut first, but fans are undoubtedly excited for both.
