Netflix has set a release date for its next major historical drama. House of Guinness, an eight-part series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, will premiere globally on September 25, 2025. The series turns its lens on one of Europe’s most recognizable dynasties, exploring the personal and political impact of the Guinness family’s rise in 19th-century Ireland.
The story begins in the aftermath of Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death, when his will and legacy reshape not only the lives of his four adult children but also ripple through Dublin society and even across the Atlantic in New York. Netflix describes the show as a reimagining of a period when the Guinness name was becoming synonymous with both wealth and influence, anchored in the brewing empire that remains iconic to this day.
Cast and Characters
The ensemble is led by Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air) as Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn (The Responder) as Anne Guinness (later Anne Plunket), and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) as Benjamin Guinness.
They’re joined by an impressive supporting cast including James Norton (Happy Valley), Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), Niamh McCormack (Everything Now), Danielle Galligan(Shadow and Bone), Ann Skelly (The Nevers), and Seamus O’Hara (Blue Lights). Additional cast members include Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Michael Colgan, Jessica Reynolds, Hilda Fay, and Elizabeth Daulau.

Behind the Camera
Steven Knight serves as creator and writer of House of Guinness. The production team includes executive producers Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, Tom Shankland, and Ivana Lowell. Shankland directed the first block of episodes, with Mounia Akl directing the second. Cahal Bannon is series producer, with Howard Burch also producing.
Knight, who continues to develop a Peaky Blinders film and was recently announced as the screenwriter for Amazon MGM’s next James Bond movie, adds House of Guinness to a growing list of high-profile projects.
A New Dynasty Drama
With its focus on legacy, wealth, and power struggles within a famous family, House of Guinness positions itself as a period drama with parallels to Peaky Blinders. While the Shelby clan controlled the streets of Birmingham, here Knight examines the Guinness family’s influence in Dublin, combining personal drama with the broader cultural and economic shifts of the era.
House of Guinness will debut worldwide on September 25, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. For those awaiting its arrival, Peaky Blinders remains available to stream on the platform.
