Apple TV’s Masters of the Air takes off, shattering records

Masters of the Air is already a smash hit it seems. Apple told Variety, the show pulled in more viewers during its debut weekend than any other original launch, outpacing established hits like The Morning Show and Hijack.

This success isn’t limited to premiere viewers. Apple states that viewership across the entire Apple TV+ platform saw a massive 65% increase in the week following the Masters of the Air premiere. The global impact is clear, with double-digit growth maintained in over 100 countries.

While specific viewing figures remain under wraps, the budget behind this 9-part WWII epic – reportedly upwards of $250 million – speaks to Apple’s faith in the project. The investment paid off, thanks to a star-studded cast, historically accurate sets, detailed CGI, and the production pedigree of Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.

Masters of the Air is streaming now, with new episodes released every Friday until the March 15th finale.
