Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for The Savant, a new limited series led by Jessica Chastain, who also serves as an executive producer. The eight-episode thriller will premiere globally on September 26, 2025, with a two-episode debut followed by weekly installments through November 7.
The series follows Chastain as a covert investigator known only as “The Savant,” tasked with infiltrating online hate networks in an effort to stop domestic extremists before their plans turn violent. The storyline blends psychological drama with a procedural edge, spotlighting both the dangers of radicalization and the toll such undercover work takes on its operatives.
Alongside Chastain, the cast includes Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and Pablo Schreiber in a guest role.
Behind the camera, The Savant brings together an experienced production team. It is produced by Fifth Season, with Chastain and Kelly Carmichael representing Freckle Films. Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, Tokyo Vice), Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, House of Cards), and documentary filmmaker Matthew Heineman (A Private War, Cartel Land) also serve as executive producers. David Levine and Garrett Kemble executive produce for Anonymous Content, while Andrea Stanley — author of the original Cosmopolitan article that inspired the show — acts as a consultant.
For Apple TV+, The Savant continues its push into prestige dramas that merge real-world themes with thriller pacing. With Chastain front and center, the series arrives positioned as one of the service’s marquee fall releases, joining a lineup that has leaned heavily on star-driven projects to compete in the streaming landscape.
