Imagine trying to tell the story of a legend like Alexander the Great – the battles, the drama, the whole conquering-an-empire thing. That’s what Netflix’s “Alexander: The Making of a God” tries to do, mixing real history with Hollywood flair.

While the show looks amazing – seriously, the sets and costumes are like stepping into a history book – and the actors do their best, it’s not quite a slam dunk. Here’s the thing: the show jumps back and forth between dramatic scenes and history professor explainers, which can feel a bit jarring. And hey, if you’re a history buff who likes their facts straight, you might find yourself nitpicking some of the creative liberties they take with Alexander’s story.

But hold on! Before you write it off, here’s the good stuff. The battles are epic, the costumes are swoon-worthy, and they actually explore Alexander’s bisexuality, which is pretty cool in a genre that often whitewashes history.

So, the verdict? “Alexander: The Making of a God” is kind of a history lesson meets soap opera. If you’re looking for pure historical accuracy, you might be disappointed. But if you’re down for a visually stunning ride with a legendary figure, and don’t mind some creative license, then give it a shot. Just remember, popcorn recommended!
