What to expect from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on OSN+

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the latest HBO series set in the world of Westeros, will stream exclusively across the Middle East and North Africa beginning 19 January 2026.

Set roughly a century before the events of Game of Thrones and decades after the era explored in House of the Dragon, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms shifts focus away from royal courts and dragon-led wars. Instead, it follows the travels of Ser Duncan the Tall, a wandering hedge knight, and his young squire known as Egg. Their journey unfolds in a version of Westeros still shaping its social order, where personal honour, shifting loyalties, and survival matter more than dynastic ambition. The tone is notably smaller in scale, relying on character interaction and moral uncertainty rather than large battles or spectacle.

The series is adapted from George R. R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, stories that have long been regarded by readers as a more restrained counterpoint to the epic conflicts of the main saga. By drawing directly from this source material, the adaptation leans into a slower pace and a more personal perspective, offering viewers a look at everyday life in the Seven Kingdoms rather than the decisions of kings and queens. This approach allows the narrative to explore power and identity through individual choices rather than inherited authority.

For regional audiences, the show will be available exclusively on OSN+, which holds the regional streaming rights to HBO content through its partnership with HBO. The platform has increasingly positioned itself as a distributor of major international series alongside locally relevant programming, and this release continues that strategy without altering the show’s original creative direction.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms arrives at a moment when interest in the Westeros franchise remains strong but increasingly selective, with viewers responding more cautiously to new entries. By narrowing its scope and grounding its storytelling, the series may appeal not only to long-time fans but also to audiences looking for a character-led fantasy drama rather than another sprawling epic.
