Yango Play brings Crunchyroll’s massive Anime library to MENA viewers

Anime fans across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) now have easier access to one of the world’s most extensive collections of anime content, thanks to a new partnership between Yango Play, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), and Crunchyroll. The agreement, announced on May 17, 2025, brings Crunchyroll’s vast anime catalog to Yango Play subscribers across the region, with full Arabic subtitle support and a fully ad-free experience.

Through this deal, Yango Play users can now stream top anime titles—including Tower of God, Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun!, and Solo Leveling—with options to view in Arabic, English, or Japanese. The content is available across devices, including TV screens via the new dedicated Crunchyroll channel on Yango Play, which also features fan favorites like Fire Force, Shangri-La Frontier, and The Rising of the Shield Hero.

More titles are on the way. The anime lineup on Yango Play will continue to grow throughout the year, with major releases like Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation set to join the platform soon.

“This partnership is about more than content,” said Khalid El Sergany, Head of Acquisition at Yango Play. “It’s a recognition of the rising appetite for anime in the MENA region, and a commitment to delivering world-class entertainment in Arabic and on-demand.”

Ziad Yaghi, SVP of Distribution & Networks, MENA and Turkey at Sony Pictures Television, echoed this sentiment, calling the deal “a comprehensive package” that merges Crunchyroll’s anime depth with SPE’s film catalog—offering “a wealth of quality content to Yango Play audiences across the region.”

In addition to anime, the agreement includes a wide range of blockbuster films from Sony Pictures Entertainment’sportfolio. Users can now stream titles like Venom, The Equalizer, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Blade Runner 2049, Hotel Transylvania 3, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Amazing Spider-Man series, and Django Unchained, among others.

Yango Play, an AI-powered entertainment super app available in the Middle East and Egypt, continues to position itself as a central hub for regional entertainment. Its integrated platform offers streaming video, music, and mini-games—all ad-free—with a curated blend of Arabic, Turkish, and international content. New users can currently take advantage of a one-month free trial.

With this latest Crunchyroll integration, Yango Play is not only enhancing its anime credentials but also reinforcing its mission to make premium, localized entertainment accessible across the region. As anime becomes increasingly mainstream across the Arab world, Yango Play’s investment in Arabic subtitled content and cross-device availability marks a strong step forward in regional content innovation.
