The Terminal List: True Believer enters production with global scope

The Terminal List is moving forward with its second season, officially titled The Terminal List: True Believer. According to creator Jack Carr and showrunner David DiGilio, production is actively underway, and the new season is set to broaden the scope of the series both narratively and geographically.

In a recent update, Carr emphasized the team’s focus on growth and refinement as they continue adapting his novels for the screen. Drawing parallels to his military background, Carr noted the intention to improve each installment, taking lessons from previous work and applying them to the current production. While still early in its development, Carr described the visuals captured so far as “stunning,” and hinted at a season that builds on the groundwork laid by the first.

Returning to lead the cast is Chris Pratt, alongside Taylor Kitsch, with Gabriel Luna newly joining the ensemble. While the full cast list has yet to be confirmed, the creative team is already positioning True Believer as a significant step forward for the franchise, both in scale and ambition.

DiGilio highlighted the tonal and genre shift that Season 2 will embrace. Unlike the first season’s tightly focused military revenge thriller, True Believer transitions into the realm of international espionage. Based on Carr’s second novel, the story follows protagonist James Reece into a broader geopolitical landscape. The production has already filmed in countries such as South Africa and Canada, with plans to return to Africa as filming continues—suggesting a global reach that mirrors the narrative’s expanding stakes.

DiGilio described the second season as “one of the biggest shows Amazon’s ever undertaken,” reflecting both the physical scale of production and the complexity of the story. The move into a more expansive espionage format allows the series to shift gears, promising a new direction without losing the core themes of personal conflict and high-stakes action.

Meanwhile, the prequel spin-off The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which explores the early life of Ben Edwards (played by Taylor Kitsch), is scheduled to premiere on August 27 on Prime Video. That series takes a darker look at the human toll of combat and covert operations, potentially setting up thematic echoes in the flagship series.

While there’s no confirmed release date for The Terminal List: True Believer, production is in full swing, and fans can expect a wider lens on the character of James Reece as the show moves beyond revenge and into the world of international intelligence and covert warfare.
