Fans of the suave, quick-thinking Jonathan Pine are in for a treat, as the BBC and Prime Video have just greenlit two additional seasons of the hit spy thriller ‘The Night Manager’!
Based on the gripping John le Carré novel, ‘The Night Manager’ debuted in 2016, captivating audiences with its twisting plot. Hiddleston starred as Pine, a former soldier turned luxury hotel night manager, who finds himself drawn into a dangerous game of international espionage. His mission: take down the ruthless arms dealer Richard Roper, played to chilling perfection by Hugh Laurie.
Picking Up Where We Left Off
The new seasons will jump ahead eight years from the heart-pounding first season’s finale. Showrunner David Farr returns with a fresh script, while Georgi Banks-Davies (‘Paper Girls’) will take on directing duties for the six-episode second season.
“The first series of ‘The Night Manager’ remains one of my most satisfying experiences,” Hiddleston reveals. “Jonathan Pine is a complex, haunted character, and I can’t wait to see where his story takes us next.”
Why the Excitement?
In a world of endless cancellations, this revival feels almost rebellious. Fans are buzzing with anticipation, wondering what perils Pine might face, and whether old foes will reemerge. The BBC promises filming will begin later this year, so the countdown is on!
