Netflix’s 2025 Tudum showcase offered a comprehensive look at its upcoming slate, revealing premiere dates, first-look trailers, and a handful of returning favorites. Held as a global streaming event, this year’s Tudum balanced nostalgia with new entries, spotlighting final seasons, long-awaited sequels, and new projects backed by major names across film and television.

Among the biggest announcements was the release schedule for Stranger Things Season 5. The final chapter in the saga will unfold in three parts: Volume 1 arrives November 26, Volume 2 follows on Christmas Day, and the concluding finale drops on New Year’s Eve. Set in the fall of 1987, the storyline continues in a quarantined Hawkins as the group confronts growing rifts and the escalating threat of Vecna. Netflix also dropped a teaser, hinting at rising stakes and a more intense emotional and physical toll on the main cast.

The fight isn’t over yet. Get ready for the epic series finale of Stranger Things.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film in Rian Johnson’s modern detective series, is slated for release on December 12. While the trailer reveals little about the plot, it sets a darker tone, with Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc calling it his “most dangerous case yet.” The film brings together a new ensemble cast, including Josh O’Connor, further extending the franchise’s anthology format.

The trailer for Squid Game Season 3 also debuted, confirming a June 27 release. The new season appears to center on Gi-hun as he faces higher stakes and deeper personal conflicts, positioning this installment as a potential series conclusion.

Fans of Wednesday were given a sneak peek at Season 2 with the release of its opening six minutes. The season will premiere in two parts—August 6 and September 3—and introduces a new character played by Lady Gaga, who appears as Rosaline Rotwood, a storied figure at Nevermore Academy. The preview leans heavily into hidden clues and character returns, signaling a more layered narrative.

After nearly 30 years, Happy Gilmore 2 is finally on the schedule, with a July 25 premiere date. The trailer teases the return of Adam Sandler’s fan-favorite character and features cameos from both familiar faces and high-profile athletes, hinting at a blend of classic gags and contemporary sports culture.

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein adaptation also made a showing with a moody teaser. Oscar Isaac stars as Victor Frankenstein, and the preview emphasizes del Toro’s signature gothic style. The film, expected this November, appears to balance horror and tragedy, staying faithful to the core themes of Mary Shelley’s novel.

One Piece fans got their first look at Tony Tony Chopper, who will appear in Season 2. Voiced by Mikaela Hoover, the character is introduced as a reindeer-human hybrid with a strong sense of compassion and a desire to heal. The trailer suggests a continuation of the show’s light-hearted yet emotionally resonant tone.

Lastly, The Rip, directed by Joe Carnahan, reunites Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in a crime thriller inspired by real events. Set in Miami, the film explores a police unit that discovers a massive hidden fortune and the chaos that follows. With a cast that includes Steven Yeun and Kyle Chandler, the film is set to premiere on January 16, 2026.

Tudum 2025 didn’t break the mold, but it solidified Netflix’s continued investment in major franchises and high-profile collaborations. With returning juggernauts and a few calculated risks, the platform’s content strategy for the next year seems focused on deepening audience ties to familiar properties while selectively expanding its originals.
