Secret Invasion is a six-episode series based on the Marvel Comics crossover event of the same name, and it stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Olivia Colman as Emilia Clarke, and Don Cheadle as James Rhodes.
The series follows Nick Fury and Talos as they investigate a series of mysterious events that suggest that the Skrulls, a shapeshifting alien race, have infiltrated Earth’s governments and organizations.
The series kicks off where 2019’s Captain Marvel ended, by focusing on the status of the Skrull refugees. The show definitely bring bask good memories by bringing back many characters and elements from all the movies, up to Avengers: Endgame, while introducing some new characters.
The performances are pretty strong overall, specially with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, who brings back the character to life. What’s impressive about Secret Invasion is how well the story lines up. The main plot here is pretty obvious, basically anyone could be a Skrull, more specifically, a faction of radicalized Skrulls who aim to take over earth.
Overall, Secret Invasion is a great and thrilling spy series that is worth watching for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The series premiers on Disney+ in the MENA region on June 21.
