The popular Yakuza video game series is getting a live-action adaptation! Amazon’s Prime Video will be releasing the first season of “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” on October 25th, 2024.

This gritty series dives deep into the criminal underworld of Japan, following Kazuma Kiryu’s rise through the ranks of the Yakuza. We’ll witness his struggles and triumphs as he grapples with loyalty, honor, and the violent consequences of his choices. Expect heart-pounding action sequences that showcase the series’ signature blend of martial arts and street brawling. But “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” isn’t just about the fights. The series also explores the complex human drama that unfolds within the Yakuza clan, delving into themes of brotherhood, betrayal, and redemption.

Actor Ryoma Takeuchi takes on the lead role of Kiryu, promising to deliver a passionate and intense performance.Director Masaharu Take assures fans that the series will be just as gripping as the games, with his “heart and soul” poured into the project.

This live-action adaptation has the potential to be as edgy and thrilling as other popular Prime Video shows like “The Boys” or “Fallout.” Mark your calendars for October 25th, and get ready for a wild ride!
