April 2025 brings a wide array of content to the Disney+ streaming platform, offering something for nearly every viewer—from gripping thrillers and emotional documentaries to returning fan-favorite series and nature specials aligned with Earth Day.

Nature lovers can dive into two timely documentaries premiering on April 22. Sea Lions of the Galápagos and Guardians of the Galápagos from Disneynature present rare glimpses into the vibrant, yet fragile ecosystems of the famed islands. Meanwhile, Secrets of the Penguins, available from April 21, builds on the legacy of March of the Penguins with a fresh perspective on penguin life across different climates, from icy Antarctic regions to desert-bound outliers. This new series is led by acclaimed wildlife cinematographer Bertie Gregory and aims to highlight the complexity of penguin societies in a way that parallels human communities.

True crime fans can look forward to Dying for Sex, based on the real-life podcast story of Molly Kochan. Premiering April 4, this FX series chronicles a woman’s bold, unconventional path toward self-discovery following a terminal cancer diagnosis. It offers both emotional depth and moments of candid reflection on relationships, desire, and mortality.

If you’re drawn to psychological suspense, The Stolen Girl arrives on April 16. The series revolves around a mother’s worst nightmare after trusting her daughter’s new friend and their seemingly safe home. It delves into parental instincts, fractured trust, and the darker side of suburban normalcy.

Sci-fi fans have plenty to look forward to with the return of Andor Season 2 on April 23. This chapter in the Star Wars universe continues Cassian Andor’s transformation from a disillusioned bystander to a pivotal figure in the Rebel Alliance. The series is noted for its political undercurrents, espionage elements, and slow-burning character arcs. The season kicks off with a three-episode launch, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense ride toward galactic upheaval.

Other key streaming dates in April 2025 include 9-1-1 Season 8 Part 2 on April 3, The Rookie Seasons 1–5 on April 1, Doctor Who Season 2 on April 12, and The Great North Season 5 on April 16. For comedy fans, High Potential continues its run leading to the finale on April 10, and Light & Magic Season 2 lands on April 18, exploring behind-the-scenes tales from cinematic history.

Also premiering is Sly Lives! (aka The Burden of the Black Genius) on April 18 and Last Take: Rust and the Story of Halyna on April 11, which tackles the tragic events surrounding the film Rust with a sobering narrative approach.

From laugh-out-loud comedy to sobering true stories and Earth Day celebrations, Disney+ in April 2025 delivers a broad content offering designed to capture viewers across genres. Whether you’re binging the latest sci-fi adventure or settling in for a nature documentary, there’s a steady stream of new additions to explore this month.
