Darkness Rrises in ‘Star Wars: Tales of the Empire’

The galaxy far, far away is about to plunge into even deeper shadows. Disney+ has unveiled the first chilling trailer for the newly renamed ‘Star Wars: Tales of the Empire’, the highly-anticipated follow-up to ‘Tales of the Jedi’. This six-part animated series promises to delve into the untold stories of two women corrupted by the Dark Side of the Force.

Headlining the darkness is Barriss Offee (once again voiced by Meredith Salenger), the former Jedi Padawan and close friend of Ahsoka Tano. Fans of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ will remember Barriss’ shocking act of betrayal, framing Ahsoka for a crime she didn’t commit out of disillusionment with the Jedi Order. The trailer shockingly reveals that Barriss not only survived the events of ‘Revenge of the Sith’, but was twisted into becoming one of the Empire’s ruthless Inquisitors.

The trailer offers tantalizing glimpses of other compelling characters like Lyn (voiced by Rya Kihlstedt), aka the Fourth Sister, and the return of chilling figures like the Grand Inquisitor (Jason Isaacs) and General Grievous (Matthew Wood).

This new season promises a stark departure from ‘Tales of the Jedi’, shifting the focus from familiar Jedi heroes to the complex and tragic figures drawn to the Empire’s power. Prepare for a captivating exploration of the darkest corners of the ‘Star Wars’ universe with ‘Tales of the Empire’.
