Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at its upcoming seven-episode limited series, “Disclaimer,” a gripping psychological thriller set to premiere globally on October 11, 2024. Written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón (“Roma,” “Gravity”), the series is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Renée Knight.

Cate Blanchett stars as Catherine Ravenscroft, a renowned journalist whose life takes a shocking turn when she receives a mysterious novel that exposes a dark secret from her past. As Catherine races to uncover the identity of the author and the truth behind the unsettling narrative, she’s forced to confront the consequences of her actions and the potential destruction of her life and relationships. Kevin Kline also stars in the series, alongside a stellar supporting cast including Sacha Baron Cohen (Catherine’s husband, Robert), Kodi Smit-McPhee (their son, Nicholas), Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon.

Produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content, “Disclaimer” boasts an impressive team both in front of and behind the camera. Cuarón serves as executive producer alongside Esperanto Filmoj’s Gabriela Rodriguez and Anonymous Content’s David Levine and Steve Golin. Academy Award winner Emmanuel Lubezki (“Gravity,” “Birdman,” “The Revenant”) and Academy Award nominee Bruno Delbonnel (“The Tragedy of Macbeth,” “Inside Llewyn Davis,” “Darkest Hour”) contribute their talents as directors of photography and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Donald Sabourin, Carlos Morales, and Renée Knight (co-executive producer). The series also features a captivating score composed by multiple Academy and Grammy Award winner Finneas O’Connell (“Barbie,” “No Time to Die”).

“Disclaimer” is a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers and Blanchett’s captivating performances. With its talented cast, esteemed director, and intriguing premise, the series promises to be a dark and suspenseful addition to Apple TV+’s growing library of premium content.
