The thrilling crime drama, “Criminal Record,” starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo, has been officially renewed for a second season on Apple TV+. The show, hailed as a “cutting-edge crime thriller” that keeps “audiences glued to their screen,” quickly garnered critical acclaim and a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Capaldi and Jumbo, both praised for their “captivating” and “extraordinary performances,” will reprise their roles as detectives Daniel Hegarty and June Lenker, respectively. Season two promises to delve deeper into their complex dynamic as they clash once again over a new murder investigation.

In the upcoming season, June finds herself leading the investigation into a violent clash at a political rally, where a young man is killed. Plagued by guilt, June is determined to find the perpetrator. Her path leads her back to Daniel, now a prominent figure in the shadowy realm of police intelligence. He might hold the key to solving the case, but June will have to make a dangerous compromise to get his help.

“Criminal Record” is filmed in London and produced for Apple TV+ by Tod Productions and STV Studios. The second season boasts an impressive team of executive producers, including Elaine Collins, Chris Sussman, Paul Rutman, Peter Capaldi, and Cush Jumbo.

Stay tuned for the premiere of “Criminal Record” season two, coming soon to Apple TV+!
