Apple TV+ unveiled the global premiere date and intriguing first details of “Sunny,” the captivating new 10-episode mystery thriller series starring and executive produced by Emmy Award-nominee and multi-hyphenate Rashida Jones. The first two episodes of “Sunny” will debut on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, followed by a new episode weekly through September 4 on Apple TV+.
Synopsis
“Sunny” introduces Suzie (Jones), an American woman whose seemingly idyllic life in Kyoto, Japan, shatters when her husband and son vanish in a mysterious plane crash. Left adrift, Suzie receives an unusual form of support: Sunny, a cutting-edge domestic robot developed by her husband’s electronics company. Initially resistant to Sunny’s presence, Suzie’s resentment gradually yields to an unlikely friendship. Together, this mismatched pair uncovers a disturbing truth about Suzie’s family’s disappearance, entangling them in a world of intrigue and danger beyond anything Suzie ever imagined.
