5 must stream movies and shows on Netflix, Prime, Disney+, OSN+, and more

Oct 25

As October draws to a close, the major streaming platforms are releasing a diverse lineup of new films and returning series. From a Stephen King horror prequel to a sci-fi finale and the return of a hit network drama, there’s plenty to stream on Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, and OSN+ in the Middle East and North Africa.

OSN+ headlines the weekend with It: Welcome to Derry, a prequel to Andy Muschietti’s It films that delves into the haunting origins of Pennywise and the cursed town of Derry, Maine. Set 27 years before the events of the first film, the series blends historical mystery with supernatural horror, revisiting events such as the burning of the Black Spot and other grim moments from Stephen King’s lore. Bill Skarsgård returns to his chilling role as Pennywise, with the show further connecting King’s interconnected universe through a young version of The Shining’s Dick Hallorann.

On Apple TV Plus, Invasion season 3 concludes with a finale that ties together its global cast after years of fragmented storylines. The sci-fi drama from Simon Kinberg and David Weil has earned a steady following for its grounded portrayal of humanity facing an alien threat. Returning stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, and Shioli Kutsuna deliver strong performances in an episode that promises emotional payoff and closure for several long-running arcs.

Prime Video’s Gen V also reaches its season 2 finale this week, continuing the universe of The Boys with more chaos, power struggles, and moral decay among young superheroes. Following Marie, Jordan, and Emma as they confront the fallout from Godolkin University’s secret experiments, the episode teases what’s to come in The Boys season 5. With its sharp writing and brutal satire, Gen V remains one of Prime’s most distinctive and talked-about series.

Netflix adds cinematic intensity to the weekend with Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite, a political thriller starring Rebecca Ferguson, Idris Elba, Jared Harris, and Greta Lee. The film follows the frantic investigation after a nuclear strike threat against the United States, exploring global politics, human error, and the fragile systems designed to prevent catastrophe. Bigelow’s signature realism and tight pacing give the film a grounded tension that distinguishes it from typical genre thrillers.

Meanwhile, Disney Plus marks the return of 9-1-1 with its season 9 premiere. The long-running drama, which continues to follow the lives of Los Angeles first responders, opens the new season with the aftermath of a citywide disaster that tests both the professional and personal limits of the team. The show remains a dependable blend of high-stakes emergencies and character-driven storytelling, offering both intensity and emotional weight that fans of procedural dramas can rely on.

Between the eerie atmosphere of Welcome to Derry, the global tension of A House of Dynamite, and the action-packed return of 9-1-1, this weekend’s streaming lineup delivers a mix of suspense, spectacle, and strong storytelling across genres.
