Apple TV has confirmed that the third season of its acclaimed comedy-drama Shrinking will premiere globally on January 28, 2025. The 11-episode season will debut with a one-hour premiere, followed by new episodes released weekly through April 8, 2026.

Created by Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, the series stars Jason Segel as a therapist who, after a personal loss, begins to break traditional therapeutic boundaries by telling his clients exactly what he thinks. The experiment leads to a series of unpredictable and emotional consequences that reshape his relationships and career. The show balances humor with introspection, exploring grief, vulnerability, and the imperfect process of healing.

Returning cast members include Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. Season three will also see the return of recurring guest stars such as Goldstein himself, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, and Cobie Smulders. New faces joining the ensemble include Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox, the latter adding both star power and a fresh emotional dynamic to the series.

Shrinking is produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with Lawrence’s Doozer Productions, which also produces Ted Lasso. Lawrence, Segel, and Goldstein serve as executive producers alongside Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Randall Winston, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, Ashley Nicole Black, and Bill Posley.

Since its debut, Shrinking has been praised for its mix of sharp writing, grounded performances, and emotional authenticity. Critics have highlighted the chemistry between Segel and Ford as one of the show’s strongest elements, with Ford’s portrayal of the seasoned, sardonic therapist Paul making him one of Apple TV’s standout supporting characters.

The first two seasons of Shrinking are currently streaming on Apple TV+, offering new viewers a chance to catch up before the season three premiere. The upcoming season promises to expand on the show’s themes of growth, honesty, and connection — continuing its balance of heartfelt storytelling and understated humor that has defined its success so far.
