Netflix has officially set the return date for its live-action One Piece series. The second season, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, will premiere globally on March 10, 2026. The announcement comes with the first glimpse of Drum Island, teasing the next chapter in the Straw Hat crew’s journey.
Season 2 picks up as Luffy and his crew push into the Grand Line, the perilous and unpredictable stretch of sea that forms the backbone of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga. Netflix describes this phase as one filled with harsher climates, formidable new enemies, and an evolving tone that shifts from lighthearted island-hopping to deeper, more dangerous adventure. The preview images of Drum Island reveal snowbound settings and a colder aesthetic, setting the stage for a significant tonal shift.
The returning main cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Behind the scenes, Matt Owens and Joe Tracz return as co-showrunners, joined again by Eiichiro Oda as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda, with Tomorrow Studios and Shueisha continuing their production partnership with Netflix.
Season 1’s success set a high bar. The show spent eight consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, reached number one in more than 75 countries, and became the first English-language Netflix series to debut at number one in Japan. It also earned nearly 100 million views and multiple nominations at the Children’s & Family Emmys. These numbers prompted Netflix to renew the series early for a third season, with Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes slated to lead the next chapter.
Based on materials released so far, Season 2 appears to cover the early Grand Line arc, with references to Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Laboon, Loguetown, and now Drum Island — all fan-favorite stops that mark the Straw Hats’ transition into the world’s most dangerous seas. The continuity of cast and creative leadership suggests that the series will maintain its balance of faithfulness to the manga and the accessible adventure tone that helped Season 1 resonate with audiences worldwide.
With One Piece: Into the Grand Line arriving in March 2026, Netflix seems intent on proving that its live-action anime adaptations can sustain momentum beyond a single season — a feat few have achieved.
