Dust Bunny, Wildcat and more: what’s new in UAE cinemas on December 11

If you are planning a trip to the big screen this week in the UAE, four new films arrive in cinemas on 11 December 2025, offering a mix of genres that lean into suspense, action, and family entertainment. Rather than relying on franchise fatigue or aggressive marketing tactics, this week’s theatrical releases focus on modestly scaled stories, character-driven conflicts and familiar genre frameworks.

Opening in UAE cinemas are Dust Bunny, Wildcat, and A Line of Fire. Each title approaches its genre with a restrained sensibility, prioritising plot and character over spectacle. Dust Bunny follows Aurora, a ten-year-old who believes a monster has wiped out her family. Her reclusive neighbour, who turns out to be a hitman with his own history of hunting dangerous creatures, becomes her unlikely ally. As he reluctantly investigates her claims, he’s confronted by a series of assassins and a gradually emerging truth that blurs the line between delusion and danger. The premise taps into long-standing horror-thriller traditions where childhood fears intersect with adult violence, offering a grounded take on a monster-hunting narrative.

Wildcat shifts to a more tactical mode of action. A retired black-ops team is forced to regroup when a young girl becomes a target, pushing them into a final, time-sensitive heist. The film examines familiar themes in action cinema: aging operatives confronting the cost of past decisions, loyalty strained by circumstance and the precarious nature of missions built on precision. Rather than leaning on exaggerated heroics, the story uses its compressed timeline to highlight tension and moral conflict.

A Line of Fire stays within the realm of character-driven action. When the niece of a former partner seeks help, a retired FBI agent is drawn back into unresolved cases and the violent network he once escaped. The narrative relies on the interplay between old grudges and new threats, echoing the long-running tradition of crime thrillers where personal history becomes the driving force behind each decision. Its appeal lies in its focus on consequence rather than spectacle.

With this range of new cinema releases in the UAE, audiences have options that balance action, fantasy and suspense without depending on overstated branding or high-gloss promotion. These four films provide a varied slate for anyone looking to spend an evening at the cinema this week.
