A group of researchers announced that they have successfully induced night vision in a human test subject by injecting a liquid solution in the eyeball. California based biohacker group known as Science for the Masses, posted a document explaining the experiment.
Researchers infused Chlorin e6 ( a substance found in a deep-sea fish and contains light-intensifying properties) into the eyeballs of a volunteer test subject, who is also a biochemical researcher with the same group. The liquid substance was dropped into the conjunctival sacs, which channeled the Ce6 into the retinas. After applying the drops, scientists were able to clearly see in the dark over 50 meters away.
The group plans to expand the research and test out the long-term effects of Ce6 before releasing a night vision in a bottle product.
