Yahoo is apparently working on its own personal assistant app to compete with Siri, Google Now, and Cortana.
In a recent conference call involving Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, it was revealed that company is in the process of finalising a Google Now-like digital personal assistant. Business Insider is reporting that Yahoo’s new product is code-named Index.
Yahoo believes that their key advantage over the competition is the long history with its users. Yahoo accounts are around 20 years old, whereas Google’s Gmail accounts have only been around for around 10.
The personal assistant app is said to be ad-funded and ready to roll in the second quarter of the year.
