The MiMax is a huge smartphone, measuring in at 6.44 inches across and 7.5 mm in width, yet Xiaomi believes it can effortless fit into your pocket. That may be true but it might get really snug in there, unless you’re wearing cargo shorts.
However a large size in this case correlates with better specs and the Xiaomi MiMax packs quite a punch, especially when it comes to battery size. The MiMax has a large 4850mAh battery and is powered by either a Snapdragon 650 or 652 processor and 4GB of RAM. The phone has a 16MP back-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing unit, and includes a fingerprint sensor. It’s priced between $229 and $306 depending on the processor and storage capacity options you choose. You can also get each model in silver, gold, and grey.
The MiMax runs MIUI8, the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android OS. MIUI 8 also introduces the ability to “split” a phone into two separate accounts, with a different passcode lock, home screen and apps, similar to having multiple accounts on a Windows PC. You can also “clone” apps which don’t provide intuitive account switching. That means you can set up two versions of the same app, both with a separate login, and bounce between them using the home screen or Xiaomi’s app switcher. This last point is going to be a boon to social media executives I’m sure.
