Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced a new self-balancing scooter in a bid to revive Segway. Xiaomi’s $80m investment in Beijing’s Ninebot acquisition of Segway resulted in this new product.
The Ninebot Mini can travel 22km on a single battery charge at a maximum speed of 16 kilometers per hour with a price tag of around $316. The Ninebot Weighs 12.8kg and can be carried in one hand.
The Ninebot mini will go on sale in China starting November 3. A global release date is still not announced.
