It looks like WhatsApp is still the king of messaging apps. The company has now reported that its active users base has reached 700 million.
WhatsApp’s CEO Jan Koum revealed the latest figures on Facebook.
Today, we’re thrilled to share that WhatsApp has more than 700 million monthly active users. Additionally, every day our users now send over 30 billion messages.
The platform grew by nearly 200 million users in less than a year.
Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said a few months back that he is confident the service would reach the 2 billion mark in coming years.
The mobile messaging service was acquired by Facebook for $22 billion last year.
