WhatsApp finally arrives to desktop, but not for everyone

It’s finally here, WhatsApp has finally arrived to your desktop.

WhatsApp announced the release of a web app through its official blog, but only for Blackberry, Android and Windows Phones users for now. iOS users are left out due to “Apple platform limitations”, said Jan Koum.

How does it work:

To activate the desktop web app, users need to scan a QR code through WhatsApp on their smartphones and have the latest version of the app installed. The web interface works only with Chrome at the moment.

The new web client mirrors the smartphone app onto the web and requires the phone to stay connected to the internet.

Go ahead, give it a try here.
