Theme parks seem to be what this quinquennium is about; gaming themed Hub Zero is expected to launch later this year, the IMG World of Adventure and Dubai Parks and Resorts will also open in 2016 and in November of last year, it was revealed that 20th Century Fox has plans for a similar project in the region. But they aren’t the only studio to have plans for the region as earlier today, Warners Bros. announced that they will be opening a theme park on Yas Island in 2018.
Details about the project were revealed at a press conference earlier in the day with a video about the proposed park featuring themes from DC comics (which Warner Bros. holds the cinematic rights for) to Inception and even Looney Tunes. It was also revealed at today’s conference that while the project has been officially revealed to the public today, it has already started construction with over 30% of the on the ground construction completed and with all the rides and designs passing safety checks and being approved.
