Uber has announced the availability of the official Windows Phone app for users in the UAE, with a special promo to encourage for Lumia users to experience the service. Users will get AED 100 off their first Uber ride.

The app uses the phone’s GPS to detect the user’s location and enables them to mark their pickup point on the easy to use screen map. Uber will send a text message to the users when the car arrives. Alternatively, users can check the map location of the car within the app.

Now users will be able to open the Uber app on their Windows Phone anywhere in the world – whether in the Middle East, Europe or the U.S – and seamlessly request a ride at the touch of a button,” said JP Mondalek, General Manager, Uber UAE.
Uber runs on all Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 smartphones, from the Lumia 635, Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520. Users can download it from the Windows Phone Store – for free.
