UBER rebrands with a new look and feel

If you updated your Uber app today, chances are you noticed the new icon on your phone.

The new design changes the “U” to a blue icon with a circle and a square at the center which the company describes as the “bit”. Uber says it wants to diversify its portfolio with new products focusing around the bit which with time, people would identify any Uber product buy just looking at it.

Bit_4.0

We’ve also introduced the concept of the bit throughout our design framework. This will put our technology front and center, as well as provide consistency, highlight information and make our brand easy to recognize, Uber stated in a blog post.

In addition to the logo change, Uber is introducing different colour palettes and patterns for different cities and countries to bring a more human touch to its culture.

Gold Red

The new branding celebrates our technology, as well as the cities we serve, the team has spent months researching architecture, textiles, scenery, art, fashion, people and more to come up with authentic identities for the countries where Uber operates, Kalanick says.
