The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority in the UAE has issued a statement confirming that mobile phones in the country are safe to use, and undergo global standards in testing.
While the TDRA did not mention Apple’s iPhone 12 specifically, it is clear that the statement was sent out after recent media reports highlighted health safety issues with the phone in France, and other countries.
Amidst recent media coverage concerning the safety of specific mobile phone models, TDRA underscores its unwavering commitment to upholding the most stringent global security and safety benchmarks in the approval process for mobile phones within the UAE. In this regard, the TDRA unequivocally affirms that all mobile phones available in the UAE have undergone a rigorous approval process, meticulously assessing their adherence to technical standards, and are deemed compliant.

Apple disputed the claims, and said on Wednesday its iPhone 12 model was certified by multiple international bodies as compliant with global radiation regulations and standards after a France ordered it to stop selling the phones due to above-threshold radiation levels.
Apple said it had provided ANFR multiple Apple and independent third-party lab results proving its compliance.
