Jeff Price is a name that many in the music industry here will quickly take notice of. For those outside that industry, Jeff has been a figurehead on and off the radio waves in Dubai for two decades and is responsible for laying the groundwork to set up some of the biggest English-language radio stations in the UAE, with names such as Radio 4, back in ’97 , Virgin Radio, and the recently shuttered, Radio 1 and 2. He also runs the UAE’s first children’s radio station, Pearl FM.

Unfortunately, earlier this year, Jeff was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid build up in the brain and had to go through a series of operations to drain the fluid out and it was needed as in the words of his sister, Emma Bartholomew, “to literally save his life.” Having made Dubai his home since 22 years ago with his wife Cynthia and their two children. He’s no longer eligible for the free national healthcare service back in the UK, and is unable to travel. Jeff has gone through two surgeries has left him dealing with blurred vision, short term memory loss and nausea. His family have taken care of major expenses but with medical care increasing with each procedure, the bills are mounting and they are now in a position where they won’t be able to afford treatment that’s outside their insurance cost cover.

Jeff Price is a man who’s known for helping others and has championed for the rights of migrant workers and children and is now in a position where he needs help himself.
